It was reported that during set-up of the device for a cardiopulmonary bypass procedure, the perfusion system would not switch over to battery power.There was a "battery needs service" error message observed.The device was not changed out, since they have a universal power supply (ups) in the operating room, they went on with the case.This was an off pump procedure.The surgical procedure was completed successfully.There was no delay, no blood loss, nor adverse consequences to the pt.

Eval is in progress, but not yet concluded.The device was charged overnight.The total nominal battery capacity shows 18 amp hours (ah), power mode-2, power manager 1-0 (good) and power manager 2-0 (good).Per the distributor, when the system was unplugged there was 160 minutes displayed on the central control lights on the ccm and front panel of the system were both green.The distributor checked the system and found the power manager board was defective.They replaced with a new board from company stock.The system is now working fine.
