As reported, during use in patient in two occasions, the stand-alone stopcock of the dpt (disposable pressure transducer) was placed on the top of the patient's hand when connecting it to an arterial line, causing decubitus (pressure wound) on the patient.A picture of these cases could not be provided. It should be noticed that if the nurse totally adherent the connection to the patients wrist position, the risk of decubitus would only increase if the patient has edema.Furthermore, once the patient has developed a decubitus due to this connection there is an increased risk of infection and septic.
