Event Description
It was reported that a patient who recently had generator replacement surgery developed a hematoma at the generator site, right above the device. The patient's mother reported that there had been bruising and swelling at the generator site for a few days after the surgery. The patient went to the emergency department, and it was determined that there was a hematoma at the generator site (5x4x1cm) due to the bigger size of the new generator that was implanted on (b)(6) 2016.The physician attempted to drain the hematoma unsuccessfully. The patient's mother was instructed to use a warm compress on the hematoma. No further intervention was taken regarding the hematoma.
