Event Description
It was reported that the physician's assistant was concerned about a possible infection a few weeks post generator replacement surgery.Doxycycline was then prescribed and the site appeared to be healing at a follow-up.However at the next follow-up visit a growth was observed at the generator incision site. The physician believed the growth was a stitch abscess. The physician assistant then picked off the scab and the site was closed and covered with stereo strips.Antibiotics were not prescribed at this time.A review of manufacturing records stated that the generator was sterilized prior to distribution. No additional relevant information has been received to date.
