It was reported during a cesarean section, the nurse inserted a bakri balloon in the vagina and added 200ml of fluid.Approximately 2 hours later the nurse proceeded to fill another 50ml into the balloon through the syringe and noted fluid leaking from the vaginal canal. The nurse contacted the regional manager and deflated the balloon to remove it from the patient. The regional manager confirmed the top of the balloon had burst. After the bakri device was removed, the physician examined the patient and confirmed no further procedures or intervention was required. The nurse confirmed the patient was reportedly "doing well post procedure.".
