The customer reported that they were exchanging the unit for a new instrument and sending the defective instrument in for investigation.The investigation of the instrument determined that the root cause was a failure of d16 on the main pcb.D16 is the overvoltage protector diode, which blows if the voltage applied to the instrument is too high.
 
Event Description
The customer reported that their clinitek status+, upon powering up, was smoking and produced a burning smell.There was no report of injury due to this event.
