Event Description
It was reported that, while in use on a patient, a 980 ventilator experienced a sever occlusion and generated a "loud popping" noise.The patient was removed from the ventilator and placed on an alternate ventilator.The patient was not harmed or injured as a result of the reported event.
 
Manufacturer Narrative
The service engineer (se) replaced the exhalation valve flow sensor (evq) and performed calibrations, extended self-testing and all tests passed.If information is provided in the future, a supplemental report will be issued.
