Event Description
|
During the management of postpartum hemorrhaging the stopcock would not stay closed causing the balloon to deflate.It seemed there was not enough resistance to keep the stopcock from turning to the open position.The staff modified the stopcock by taping to keep it in the closed position.The patient outcome was good with no harm to the patient.No additional procedures or intervention was required due to this occurrence.A section of the device did not remain inside the patient¿s body.According to the initial reporter, the patient did not experience any adverse effects due to this occurrence.
