It was reported that guidewire separation occurred.The target lesion was located in the distal left anterior descending artery (lad).While trying to advance the comet pressure guidewire into a very tortuous saphenous vein graft (svg) in an attempt to analyze the distal lad, the physician realized that the wire could not be advanced any farther.The physician then tried to remove the wire and ¿felt no resistance.¿ upon removal, physician recognized that the wire was broken about 30cm from the distal tip.Physician was able to utilize a gooseneck snare and successfully removed the wire tip from the body.The physician then used a non-bsc wire and did successful intervention to the lad lesion.Slight delay in procedure but patient was treated successfully without harm.
