(b)(4).The reported device does not have the reported "vent inop" alarm.At this time, vyaire medical has not received the suspect device from the customer for evaluation.In the event that the device is received for evaluation or additional information is received, a follow-up report will be submitted.
 
Event Description
The customer reported that five minutes after completing the patient circuit calibration, the ventilator started to give off a burning smell.The user stopped the ventilator and checked all the connections.When the user started the ventilator again, the piston was running slow and getting warm and there was a "vent inop" alarm.There was no patient involvement associated with this issue.
