Event Description
Information was received from a consumer regarding a patient who was implanted with an implantable neurostimulator (ins) for urinary dysfunction/sacral nerve stimulation and gastrointestinal/pelvic floor.It was reported that the patient stated their ins was ¿malfunctioning¿ and that they had been getting shocked by the stimulation since the beginning of the year.The patient reported that they fell down the stairs quite a while ago, november ¿ (b)(6) 2017.The patient stated their pain doctor did an x-ray the day before the report and stated it looked like the ins was ¿bulging out.¿ the patient noted they did not have batteries for their programmer, but wanted to review how to turn stimulation off for when they got batteries.The patient was advised to follow up with their healthcare provider, and turning stimulation off was reviewed.No further complications were reported.
