The results of the investigation are inconclusive since the reported device was not returned for analysis.Based on the information received, the cause of the reported event could not be conclusively determined.The material inspection report for the reported guide wire was unable to be reviewed, as the lot number was not provided.(b)(4).
 
Event Description
A coronary lesion was primarily wired with a viperwire guide wire via a femoral approach with a 6fr system.The patient developed chest pain and st elevation.Imaging was performed, and no flow was observed.The physician's opinion was that there may have been spasm in the artery causing the no flow.Balloon angioplasty was performed, and the artery was opened.Nitro was administered and a 3.0x30 drug eluting stent was placed.The patient was stable following the procedure.
