Event or Problem Description
Complainant alleged that during biomed testing, the device displayed a "check pads" message.Complainant indicated that there was no patient involvement in the reported malfunction.

The device was received at zoll medical corporation.The customer's report was not replicated or confirmed.The device was put through extensive testing including shock testing and bench handling with known good accessories without duplicating the report.The device was recertified and returned to the customer.No accessories from the time of the report were returned.Analysis of reports of this type has not identified an increase in trend.
