The device was not returned for evaluation.A review of the lot history record identified no manufacturing nonconformities issued to the reported lot that would have contributed to this event.A conclusive cause for the reported patient effects, and the relationship to the product, if any, cannot be determined.The reported patient effect of intimal dissection is listed in the xience prime / xience prime small vessel (sv), and xience prime long length (ll), everolimus eluting coronary stent system (eecss), instructions for use as a known patient effect of coronary stenting procedures.There is no indication of a product quality issue with respect to manufacture, design or labeling of the device.
 
Event Description
It was reported that the procedure was treat a mildly calcified de novo left circumflex (lcx) artery that is 95% stenosed.The lesion was pre-dilatated with a 1.5x12mm non-abbott balloon and a 3.5x38mm xience prime was successfully deployed at 10 atmospheres.Post dilatation with 3.5x8mm nc balloon at 14 atmospheres revealed a distal edge dissection.The dissection was treated with a 3.0x38mm xience prime.There were no adverse patient sequela and no clinically significant delay.No additional information was provided.
