Information was received from multiple sources (manufacturer representative, healthcare provider) regarding a patient who was implanted with an implantable neurostimulator (ins). It was reported that the stimulator¿s warranty was started and initially connected to the tablet with information entered at the start of the procedure. When the ins was opened and placed on the back table, the device lost connectivity. They tried numerous times to reconnect via bluetooth, placing the communicator directly over the ins multiple times, restarting tablet but could not reconnect. It was reported that they turned on/off communicator, tablet, placed communicator directly over ins.The cord was used to try and connect. The physician then looked at the ins and saw visible ¿scratches¿ on the unit.He believed that the integrity of the ins was compromised and demanded a new battery be openedas they could still not reconnect.A new ins was opened and connected without issue.
