It was reported that the blades stopped spinning, and the device became stuck on the guidewire.A 2.4mm jetstream xc atherectomy catheter was selected for use in an atherectomy procedure in the popliteal and superficial femoral artery to treat peripheral artery disease. There was some tortuous anatomy in the target location.During the procedure in the middle of a run through a chronic total occlusion, significant resistance was noted followed by loss of rotation while in blades up mode.Attempts were made to turn the device off and on as well as advance and retract, but the jetstream device was bound to the non-boston scientific guidewire. The procedure was completed with another of the same device. No patient complications were reported.
