Event or Problem Description
The patient was undergoing a coil embolization procedure in the portal vein using ruby coils.During the procedure, as the tech was advancing a ruby coil in introducer sheath, they kinked the pusher assembly of the coil, making it unable to advance further.Therefore, the ruby coil was removed.The procedure was completed using a new ruby coil and the same lantern.There was no report of an adverse effect to the patient.
