Event or Problem Description
Information was received from a healthcare professional (hcp) via a manufacturer¿s representative (rep) regarding a patient with an evaluation trial device for urinary dysfunction/sacral nerve stimulation and gastrointestinal /pelvic floor therapy. It was reported that the rep was present during this case when hcp noted that the lead got stretched out noticeably prior to implanting it in the patient, specifically as the stylet was being peeled back from the lead.Caller indicated that this was this hcp's first such procedure ever, so they were unsure if lead had been mishandled or stretched by hcp somehow during procedure or if this was a potential out of box issue. There was no impact to the patient. They used new product without issue.
