Medtronic received a report that the physician first filled in fc-8-3d and apb-6-20-hx-ss.Then the third spring coil: apb-5-20-hx-ss was selected. The size of the spring coil was selected too large, and it was still herniated into the tumor-bearing artery after repeated adjustments. The surgeon intended to replace with the small spring coil, but during the retraction to the microcatheter, it was stretched.Replacement products were used to complete the procedure. It was indicated that all devices were prepared as per the instructions for use (ifu), and no patient symptoms or further complications were reported as a result of this event. The patient was undergoing surgery for treatment of a saccular, unruptured aneurysm of the anterior communicating (acom) artery with a max diameter of 6.25 mm and a 3.8 mm neck diameter. It was noted the patient's blood flow and vessel tortuosity were normal.Ancillary devices include an echelon microcatheter.
