Event Description
|
It was reported that the patient had been complaining of magnet tones heard from their cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator (crt-d).It was noted that the patient was troubleshooting and looking for a potential source of the magnet with a device that measure the horizontal and vertical components of the geomagnetic field intensity vector and found a knife magnet as a potential source.The patient reports that they held their device near the magnet but did not hear the tone go off.The patient stated that there was something wrong with their device.The device is still in use.No patient complications have been reported as a result of this event.
