The filler was injected into the patient and is not accessible for return. The syringe was not returned for evaluation. This is a known potential adverse event addressed in the product labeling.

Event Description

Patient reported being injecting in the lips with unspecified juvéderm®. The patient reported that the injector ¿injected a vessel. ¿ the patient was treated with hyaluronidase and was ¿allergic¿ and had a ¿reaction¿ later that night, deemed not related to the device. The patient took allergy medication. The patient experienced ¿pain and burning sensation¿ in the left shoulder, ¿nausea¿, ¿a sting and sharp pain¿ in the lips, neck and left arm, non-device related ¿headaches,¿ and their lips were ¿bruised and discolored. ¿ allegra and benadryl were prescribed. The patient reported being told that ¿when this is an occlusion, you need to check the blood flow. The event is ongoing.
