Event Description
Information was received from a patient who was implanted with an implantable neurostimulator (ins) for non-malignant pain.It was reported that the patient was having difficulty recharging ins.Patient (pt) said a message displayed on the controller screen but could not remember the exact message except call the company.Patient services specialist (pss) had a hard time understanding patient because their phone was breaking up.Pss would ask patient questions without a clear or no reply.Patient had described recharging antenna acting up, taking a long time to recharge ins (2 hours for last recharge and difficulty communicating with ins.Pss did not get cooperation while troubleshooting; pss wanted patient to start a recharge session to try to recreate error message but the patient plugged controller into ac power supply.Then call dropped.The issue was not resolved.An email was sent to the repair department to replace the device.Patient mentioned meeting with mdt rep this wednesday for reprogramming.They said they believe the stimulation is too strong.
