Event Description
|
Information was received from a healthcare provider (hcp) via a company representative regarding a patient receiving dilaudid via an implanted pump.The indication for pump use was non-malignant pain.It was reported that the patient¿s pump had not been read since an mri yesterday and upon reading it today about 5 minutes ago it was still showing a motor stall.No alarm was reported.Telemetry mode was reviewed during the call.

Additional information received from the company representative reported that a motor stall recovery message was seen in the pump logs after re-interrogation of the pump.

Additional information received from a healthcare provider (hcp) via a manufacturer representative (rep) indicated that the patient had magnetic resonance imaging (mri) on (b)(6)2022 and a motor stall occurred.The pump did not recover.The pump was "looked at" on (b)(6)2022 and the motor stall "recovered itself".The pump was close to reaching the elective replacement indicator (eri), so it was replaced on (b)(6)2022-.It was unknown if any environmental, external, or patient factors may have led or contributed to the issue.At the time of the report, the issue was resolved and the patient status was "alive-no injury".The pump was used to deliver dilaudid (hydromorphone) at a concentration of "400mcg" and dose of "90mcg".The patient's weight and medical history were asked but would not be made available.

Additional information received from a company representative (rep) reported the motor stall occurred after the reported mri and refill and showed that it recovered itself when checked on (b)(6) 2022.The pump was reported to be replaced due to nearing early replacement indicator.
