Event Description
It was reported via ms&s "an offsite location is using our powerloc needle. They are having issues with it ¿pressure limiting¿ at 4ml/sec.The machine is set at 300 psi and the flow rate indicates it should be good for 5ml/sec." ms&s response "some things we would suggest checking are: is the needless connector removed? is the needle fully seated? is the line patent (not partially occluded)? contrast media warmed to body temperature? we recommend warming contrast media since this lowers the viscosity to or below 11.8cp which is where we did the testing for the flow rates listed.Needleless connectors can restrict flow.If you choose to leave the needleless connector in place, you must make sure it can handle 5 mls/sec flow and at least 300 psi.The ones not designed for ct can restrict flow and cause alarms or blow apart" response received 05/05/2022: "i asked a sales rep if the diffusing catheters would pressure limit like the power huber needles do.".
