Event Description
Information was received from a healthcare provider (hcp) regarding a patient who was receiving fentanyl (unknown concentration or dose) and clonidine (unknown concentration or dose) via an implantable pump for non-malignant pain.It was reported that the patient was admitted to the icu (intensive care unit) overnight with what they believed to be overdose symptoms.The hcp reported that the patient was altered and could not remember how they got there.The hcp reported that they had given the patient narcan.The hcp requested a medtronic representative to come out and shut off the pump.The hcp confirmed that the pump was not audibly alarming.

Event Description
Additional information received from the healthcare provider reported that no obvious reason was found for the cause for the patient¿s symptoms.The external, environmental, or patient factors that may have led or contributed to the issue was the patient appeared sleepy prior to refill.The actions and interventions taken to resolve the issue was narcan.The issue was resolved.
