The manufacturer is reporting the following complaint after a voluntary review of all complaints (reportable or not) since 2016.This report is being filed now, after being scrutinized under a newly revised risk matrix, recently adopted after inspection.Cardioquip inspected the device and found the burning smell was caused by an overheated pump motor.Further inspection showed the pump motor overheating was caused by a cooling fan malfunction that was, in turn, caused by dust and debris. The fans were cleaned, pump motor lubricated and upon final inspection the device was fully functional.
