Medtronic received information regarding a catheter. It was reported that after the shunt was implanted, the patient's intracranial pressure and symptoms of hydrocephalus were not relieved.Multiple clinical interventions were unsuccessful, the shunt was not smooth.Re-operation was required to check whether the shunt was patency.During the surgery, it was found that the brain ventricle end catheter was not smooth. The shunt was replaced with a new brain ventricle end catheter. There was no reported impact to the patient.Additional information was received. It was reported that the valve was pressed, but the symptoms of insufficient shunt were not relieved. After the surgery, it was found that the whole system of the shunt tube was not smooth, and it was suspected that the valve of the ventricle of the brain or the abdominal end blocked the pipe. The cause of the event was suspected to be due to a stenosis inside the body of the shunt.
