|
Information was received from a manufacturer representative regarding a patient who was receiving an unknown drug via an implantable pump for non-malignant pain and spinal pain indications.It was reported that the company representative was at a catheter revision case.On sunday the healthcare provider (hcp) attempted a cap dye study and was unsuccessful.The patient was having a catheter revision now.They had no further history. no patient symptoms were reported.

Additional information received reported that it was unknown the cause for the failed dye study.Upon opening for surgery, the catheter was cut.There were no disclosed external, environmental or patient factors that may have caused or contributed to the event.The replacement resolved the issue.

Additional information received from the consumer (con) reported that on (b)(6) 2022, the patient had symptoms of cyclic vomiting, extreme pain, and lethargy.The patient stated that they had their catheter replaced as it was determined the catheter "broke at the tip".The patient mentioned that they have had "two surgeries" while having the pump but was not complaining and did not elaborate further.
