Event Description
|
Information was received from a healthcare provider (hcp) via a company representative (rep) regarding a patient receiving dilaudid (hydromorphone) 20 mg/ml at 6.8 mg/day via an implantable pump for spinal pain indications.It was reported the patient went in for a normal eri pump replacement on (b)(6) 2022.The physician noticed a portion of the pump segment of the catheter that was proximal to the pump was compromised.It was unknown if there were any environmental, external, patient factors that may have led or contributed to the issue.The physician revised the pump segment with an 8784 revision kit.The catheter accessed freely and the physician was able to aspirate 2 cc of fluid through the catheter access port (cap).The issue was resolved at the time of this report and the patient¿s status was ¿alive- no injury¿.The patient¿s weight and medical history were asked but unknown.There were no withdrawal symptoms or increased pain reported.

Additional information was received from a healthcare provider (hcp) via a company representative who clarified that the hcp had noticed fraying near the sutureless connector, so he elected to replace it during the procedure.
