Event Description
According to the literature, a retrospective study of 1284 patients from 2010 to 2018 compared the efficacy and safety of microwave ablation (mwa) to those of radiofrequency ablation (rfa) in the treatment of patients with subcapsular hepatocellular carcinoma (hcc).Rfa was performed with cool-tip rf ablation system with the following reported complications: pain requiring unspecified treatment, infection (unknown if treatment was required), hydropneumothorax requiring drainage, hepatic encephalopathy (unknown if treatment was required) and post procedure ascites (unknown if treatment was required).A competitor device was used for microwave ablation therapies.
