Event Description
Information was received from a healthcare professional (hcp) via a manufacture representative (rep) regarding a generator and a handpiece.It was reported that during normal battery depletion change-out procedure, the patient experienced ventricular tachycardia (vt) which required external defibrillation.It was noted that a handpiece was used which resulted in electromagnetic interference of the cardiac resynchronization therapy pacemaker (crt-p) device and induced the vt.The device was explanted and replaced.No further patient complications have been reported as a result of this event.
