According to the complainant the device will not be returned for investigation.We are unable to determine if any product condition could have contributed to the reported hospitalization and hyperglycemia.No lot release records were reviewed, as the product lot number was not provided.
 
Event Description
It was reported that the patient went to the hospital and was diagnosed with blood glucose (bg) values that reached 400 mg/dl.The patient had a stroke.The patient stated they had brain damage, massive headache, dizziness and was disoriented.For treatment, the patient was provided insulin and was given diagnostic tests.The patient was prescribed potassium to take home.The pod was worn between 4 and 24 hours on the arm.The patient was discharged after 3 days.The pod was discarded.
