The actual sample was received for evaluation. No external blood leak was verified, however, the dialyzers were found to have polyurethane (pur) exceeding the support ring of the dialyzer, which has a yellow discoloration on the dialyzers.Once blood is put into the dialyzer, the yellow discoloration turns to a bright red color. The most likely cause of the red and yellow discoloration of the fibers is from polyurethane (pur) used during the manufacturing of the dialyzer due to the improper distribution pur on the fibers.A batch review was conducted and there were no deviations found related to this reported condition during the manufacture of this lot.Should additional relevant information become available, a supplemental report will be submitted.
