Information was received from a healthcare provider via a manufacturer representative (rep) regarding a patient who was receiving morphine (10 mg/ml at 1.8 mg/day) and bupivacaine (10 mg/ml at 1.8 mg/day) via an implantable pump for unknown indications for use.It was reported that the patient's elective replacement indicator (eri) occurred today and the pump was premature for eri.Technical services reviewed if they were running over 1ml a day or ever have in its life; the rep confirmed that the patient had been on 10 milligrams per mil of morphine for a very long time and it was unlikely. The healthcare provider is going to replace the pump and it will be sent back for analysis.
