Medtronic received information that during implant of this transcatheter bioprosthetic valve, the access site was changed from a puncture to a cutdown.No further information was reported.A "slight" pericardial effusion was reported.The cause of the effusion was not reported.A computed tomography (ct) was performed as a follow up observation to the effusion.Further treatment was not performed.No additional adverse patient effects were reported.

Additional information was received which reported that the access site was changed to a cutdown because a part of the non-medtronic perclose, closure device had broke.The cutdown was not pre-planned and was a result of a non-medtronic closure system failure.The delivery catheter system (dcs) was not difficult to insert, nor contributed to the cutdown.It was reported that the cause of the pericardial effusion was the balloon aortic valvuloplasty (bav).The reason for the bav was not reported.

Additional information was received which reported that the reason for the balloon aortic valvuloplasty (bav) was a bicuspid valve.It was unknown if the bav was performed pre-implant or post.The balloon used for the bav was a non-medtronic 20 millimeter (mm) balloon.The cause of the annulus rupture/dissection was unknown.It was unknown if any treatment aside from observation was performed for the annulus rupture/dissection.The current status of the patient remains unknown.
