|
Medtronic received information that during the attempted implant of this transcatheter bioprosthetic valve, in a patient with significant tortuous anatomy, the delivery catheter system (dcs) was unable to advance through the aortic arch.The dcs was not able to reach it's intended position at the annulus.The dcs was withdrawn from the patient and the procedure was aborted.No valve was implanted.It was reported that the patient was recovering in the hospital following an endovascular repair of abdominal aneurysm (evar).Further details surrounding the evar were not reported.No adverse patient effects were reported.

Additional information was received indicating that endovascular repair of abdominal aneurysm (evar) was performed due to a type b aortic dissection.It was believed that the wire caused the dissection during the advancement attempts.It was reported that the evar was successful.No additional adverse patient effects were reported.
