Event Description
|
Information was received from a consumer regarding a patient receiving fentanyl via an implanted pump.The indication for pump use was spinal pain.The patient called in requesting physician listings.It was noted that the patient was very upset during the call.He stated, ¿i need an ambulance.I have to crawl to the bathroom¿.Per the patient, his pump went empty on monday and started alarming monday or tuesday.He stated that he connected his ptm (personal therapy manager) to the pump and the screen displayed ¿empty reservoir¿.He mentioned he had an appointment with his pump hcp (healthcare provider) earlier today, but the appointment got canceled.

Additional information received from a patient representative (rep) indicated that, at the time of this report, the patient still had not been able to find a new healthcare provider (hcp).The patient representative had already called all of the doctors from the patient listings that were previously provided.The reporter wanted help with the pump or wanted to have it taken out.
