It was reported that when the patient's cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator (crt-d) was programmed to the prescribed mode for a magnetic resonance imaging (mri) scan, the patient's heart rate slowed to thirty beats per minute on telemetry.The programmer indicated pacing at ninety beats per minute.When programmed out of the prescribed mode, the patient's rate resumed at an intrinsic rate in the ninety beats per minute range.The crt-d remains in use. no further patient complications have been reported as a result of this event.
