Event Description
|
Medtronic received information that four months following the implant of this transcatheter bioprosthetic valve, the patient was hospitalized due to worsening of chronic heart failure. It was noted there was no obvious valvular dysfunction and no marked changes in the valve function, but the patient gradually weakened.Subsequently, twenty-two days later, the patient died due to heart failure. The cause of death was cardiac related. There was no evidence to suggest that the valve or its function contributed to the patient¿s death.Per the physician, the valve and the valve implant procedure were not contributing factors to the patient's death.
