Event Description
|
Information was received from a healthcare provider (hcp) via a company representative (rep) regarding a patient receiving an intrathecal clonidine (concentration and dose unknown) via an implanted pump with an indication for pain.It was reported the patient had a rash and believed the patient was allergic to clonidine.It was noted the doctor stopped the pump, removed drug, added saline, the pump died, and then was replaced.The pump was discarded.The patient was started with new drug.The issue was resolved at the time of this report and the patient¿s status was ¿alive- no injury¿.The patient¿s weight and medical history were asked and would not be made available.

Additional information was received from a healthcare provider (hcp) via a company representative (rep) indicated regarding the "pump died," the pump was permanently shut off by the managing physician because the patient was allergic to drug.The managing physician wanted to stop therapy.The patient was implanted with a new pump on (b)(6) 2023.The patient¿s weight was unknown.
