Event Description
|
Information was received from multiple sources (manufacturer representative, healthcare provider) regarding a patient who was receiving prialt (25 mcg/ml at 6.446 mcg/day) via an implantable pump for unknown indications for use.It was reported that the patient had an increase in abdominal pain around the pump pocket site.She acknowledged that she had an extensive history of abdominal surgery with adhesions from a bowel resection.A pocket revision was completed where the physician relocated the pump pocket. the issue was resolved at the time of this report and the patient's status was "alive- no injury".The patient's weight and medical history were asked and would not be made available.

Additional information received from a consumer (con) via a company representative (rep) regarding the patient reported that her abdominal pump was causing discomfort at its current location due to an "abdominal abnormality".The healthcare provider (hcp) relocated the pump from her right abdomen to her left and revised the catheter.
