Additional Manufacturer Narrative

During laboratory evaluation, the product surveillance technician (pst) observed the monitor to not power up.The fuses were removed and both were found to be in the open state meaning there was no continuity through either fuse.He also observed the power supply to have experienced an overheating event and evidence of an electrical discharge that caused the power supply to be damaged and fail.It was determined that the monitor did not meet specification.During testing of the device at the service center, the monitor failed to power up due to the defective power supply. The power supply and its associated parts and the ac power cable were replaced, and the monitor then successfully powered on.The monitor will be brought to manufacturer's specifications before being returned to the customer.
