Event Description
|
It was reported that a spectrum iq pump had started to "pull an air in tubing when spiked in packed red blood cells (prbc)".The registered nurses (rns) checked that blood could be squeezed from bag into filter chamber and that the bag was not leaking / no holes at spike point.Patient needed blood immediately, so tubing was removed from affected pump and transferred to different pump.There was no report of patient injury or medical intervention associated with this event.No additional information is available.
