It was reported that a 34-year-old caucasian female patient underwent a primary breast augmentation procedure with mentor siltex round moderate profile 425cc saline breast prostheses when the left breast prosthesis deflated post implantation.Deflation of the left breast prosthesis was diagnosed via mammogram/ultrasound.Imaging also indicated that the patient developed cysts in her right breast.Additionally, the patient developed bilateral lateral implant malposition post implantation. As a result, the patient underwent bilateral explantation and replacement with mentor memorygel breast implant 425cc gel breast prostheses on (b)(6) 2023.This medwatch report is for the patient¿s right breast prosthesis.Refer to manufacturer report number 1645337-2019-10555 for the report for the patient¿s left breast prosthesis.

Additional Manufacturer Narrative
On 11-jun-2023, mentor completed the investigation on the suspect medical device. The investigation was completed on a photo of the suspect medical device because the physical device has not been received by mentor.Device evaluation summary: according with the information received, the patient developed breast cysts and suffered from implant malposition.Upon visual evaluation of the image provided in the complaint, the implant was observed to be deflated. As the product involved in this complaint was discarded, the device couldn¿t be analyzed according to our procedures.A breast cyst is a fluid-filled sac within the breast. One breast can have one or more breast cysts. They are often described as round or oval lumps with distinct edges.Breast cysts are usually and typically do not require treatment, but they can be drained using fine needle aspiration if the cyst is large or uncomfortable.Implant displacement/migration may occur from improper implant sizing and/or placement, i.E., when the implant is too large or the pocket too small or when there has been inadequate preoperative assessment of stresses causing movement of the prosthesis. It should be noted that as part of mentor¿s quality process, all devices are manufactured, inspected, and released to approved specifications.Since no malfunction was observed during the investigation, capa activity was not required.Additional complaint information monitoring for potential safety signals is conducted through complaint trending as part of post market surveillance.Manufacturer¿s reference number: (b)(4).
