As reported, during a lobectomy procedure the progel sealant was prepped as directed and used within 20 minutes, however, it hardened up before sprayed and would not release the product. As reported, the procedure was completed using another progel.Sample evaluation found broken glass vial. There was no reported patient injury.

Additional Manufacturer Narrative
As reported, progel failed to dispense sealant.Evaluation of the sample confirms a broken glass vial and backflow of the progel contents during use. Some of the progel content had been expelled from the device in use.Based on the sample condition it is possible the vial was inadvertently damaged during subsequent handling and or forces applied to the device during setup / use of the product.Review of manufacturing records confirms product was manufactured to specification, with no indication of a manufacturing related cause for the event reported. To date, this is the only reported complaint for this manufacturing lot of (b)(4) units released for distribution in nov, 2022.Note: section a through f - the information provided by bd represents all of the known information at this time.Despite good faith efforts to obtain additional information, the complainant / reporter was unable or unwilling to provide any further patient, product, or procedural details to bd.Sample evaluated.
