Complainant alleged that during functional testing, the device would not power up.Complainant indicated that there was no patient involvement in the reported malfunction.

Zoll medical corporation has received the device for evaluation and this complaint is still under investigation.

The device was returned to zoll medical corporation for evaluation.The customer's report was observed during review of device data logs.However, the device was put through extensive testing including bench handling, impedance, and defibrillation cycling without duplicating the report.An internal inspection found no discrepancies.Device timed out and it can't be determined if it was caused by the device or induced by the user.The battery board was replaced as a precaution.A replacement device was sent to the customer.The batteries were not returned for evaluation.Analysis of reports of this type has not identified an increase in trend.
