The following information was reported to gore: on (b)(6), 2023, the patient underwent an endovascular treatment using gore® dryseal flex introducer sheath (dsf) for abdominal aortic aneurysm. The dsf were inserted after usage of non-gore device (perclose). After all stent-graft placements, it was confirmed that blood flow to both lower extremities was weak when performing hemostasis. When both sides were cut down and vascular evaluation was performed, rupture was confirmed in the femoral artery.Surgical repair was performed. The patient tolerated the procedure. The physician stated the following. The rupture was caused by either the perclose or dsf, but it is unclear which one contributed to the event.Because the patient was elderly, his blood vessels were weak.
