Event or Problem Description
Medtronic received information regarding an imaging system being used during a sacroiliac and thoracolumbar procedure. It was reported that the passive planar probe was not visible to the navigation system during the procedure. They tried changing the spheres and cleaning the spheres, but nothing worked. There was no reported impact on patient outcome. There was a slight delay to the procedure of about five minutes, but the surgery was completed without incident. The issue was likely caused by a bent passive ball tip probe.
