Event or Problem Description
|
|
Following a coronary atherectomy procedure using a csi orbital atherectomy device (oad), the patient troponin levels were noted to be elevated. The patient did not exhibit any additional symptoms. The healthcare provider documented that the elevation in troponin levels was not life-threatening, did not result in permanent impairment of a body function or permanent damage to a body structure, did not lead to a serious deterioration in the health of the subject, and did not necessitate medical or surgical intervention to preclude permanent impairment of a body function or permanent damage to a body structure. The event did not result in additional or extended hospitalization. The physician documented that there were no noted complications from the procedure. There is no allegation against the csi device and no indication that the csi device contributed to the adverse event. The clinical event committee reviewed the images and concluded that the use of the diamondback 360 coronary orbital atherectomy device may have contributed to a myocardial infarction.
