Event or Problem Description
According to the reporter, prior to use, the device had blinking yellow light but had no alarm. When unit booted up, the lights flashed but there was no speaker sound. This was in direct contradiction to the manual stated lights would flash and alarm would briefly sound upon startup. The user also checked with a simulator and there was no sound alarm when the unit was in spo2 alarm mode. testing occurred using a sensor simulator which operated at either spo2 readings of 90 or 75 to simulate normal vs alarm conditions.Presumably the settings were such that 75 would trigger an alarm. There was no patient involvement.
